If there is one hardest aspect of getting fit it is definitely getting rid of the junk food and transitioning to healthy, nutritious snacks. We have compiled a list of our favorite snacks that won't make you feel guilty for eating a serving or two...or five.
Judy Caplan, a spokes person for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics says "their mix of omega-3 fatty acid, protein and fiber will help you feel full and suppress your appetite". Our personal favorites (which happen to be the lowest calorie nuts) are almonds, cashews and pistachios.
2. Smoothie Drinks
Juice cleanses are really popular but it is a huge commitment to survive on a purely liquid diet. Smoothie drinks are a great way to fill yourself up while satisfying your daily servings of fruits and veggies.
If you don't have a blender, or drinking smoothies just doesn't appeal to you, snacking on fruit is a delicious way to substitute the junk food.
4. Avocado Toast
Coming from California, you know us here at Sun and Cobalt can't resist our avocados. Our personal favorite avocado toast recipe? Toast, an avocado, a sunny side up egg, a peach (it might sound weird but we promise it's delicious), with some salt and pepper sprinkled on top.
5. Dang Baked Coconut Chips
If you simply can't give up chips, try a healthier alternative. These are our personal favorites, but if you're not too into coconut, try kale or sweet potato.
