3 Reasons Why Pinnacles is Worth a Visit

In this first week of December, you might find yourself reflecting back at what you’ve accomplished last month or even this past year. Did you spend your weekends as a potato on the couch binge watching Netflix, or did you go out and explore the World? If your answer was the first, here’s a little guide to get you off your bum and out the door!   1)    Close Proximity It’s a short drive...you have no excuse! Pinnacles National Park is a mere hour and a half drive from the Bay Area. The park is easily accessible by well- paved roads, and is equipped with a  parking lot and restrooms next to trailheads. There is a $15 entrance fee per vehicle, but if you take a green approach and carpool, you can split this cost amongst friends. Don’t forget to grab a map at the visitor’s center, or if trailblazing is your thing, go for it! Visit the website for more information: https://www.nps.gov/pinn/index.htm

There are two main cavernous areas to explore: the Bear Gulch Cave and the Balconies Cave. Make sure to bring a flashlight and be prepared to squeeze through some narrow crevices.
